4th International Workshop on Social Infrastructure Systems (SocialSys’26)

Where Infrastructure Meets Society

The 4th International Workshop on Social Infrastructure Systems (SocialSys'26) brings together researchers, practitioners, and industry leaders working at the intersection of the built environment, computing, human behavior, and social systems. As infrastructure systems increasingly shape social outcomes—from community resilience to well-being—the ability to design, analyze, and operate these systems for measurable human benefit has become a central challenge. At the same time, accurately sensing and modeling human behavior remains essential even for traditional objectives like energy efficiency, since people are not just system beneficiaries but active participants whose preferences, routines, and decisions introduce both structure and uncertainty into the built environment. SocialSys'26 expands its scope this year to welcome contributions from computational social science, cognitive science, and behavioral modeling, and provides a venue for research at the intersection of human-centered sensing and infrastructure systems. The workshop will be held as a half-day event at ACM BuildSys 2026.
